We can see from looking at neuroscience there is a mass of new understanding of how our brain is designed and the understanding our emotional lives, this is rooted in a different part of the brain in cognitive part ( thinking part) cognition to thought.

Basically, the discovers are the emotional centers of the brain affect us in every thought every decisionand has different principles of learning and has the ability to kidnap or hijack the rest of the brain if it feels like some kind of emergency or threat. This process effects us in our mental lives.
When they have been orchestrated with our upper lobes of the brain the "thinking brain" an effective person has both of these circuits working in elegant orchestration.
Emotional intelligence is not like one thing it's more like a profile.
Are you self-aware, are you empathic?
You can be self-aware and empathic but your not good at managing your feelings so we have a profile of our strong points and our weak points and so on. Emotional intelligence is a learned skill.

How socially skilled and able we are Emotional and Social Intelligence refers to how well we handle ourselves and our relationships. People who have emotional intelligence experience
success in all life areas, They have meaningful relationships and are satisfied and successful in their careers and live life in work and play as a joyful being.
Emotional & Social Intelligence is a set of abilities and skills (verbal and nonverbal) that enable a person to generate, understand, recognize, express and evaluate their own and others emotions in order to guide thinking and action and successfully cope with environmental demands and pressures.
Emotional Intelligence is a personal characteristic and is increasingly referred to as having a potential role in medicine, nursing, and other healthcare professions.
It is suggested that EI is important for effective healthcare practice, particularly with respect to delivering patient-centered care.
Emotional and Social Intelligence in Children
Much of our identity is shaped in childhood by key events and the emotions and perspectives we associate with them.
A recent study by the London School of Economics Center for Economic Performance found that a child's emotional health is far more important in determining future happiness or wealth. The recipe for healthy bonding and emotional development is for all parties to recognize and to understand the internal state from which their emotions arise. We all struggle with negative emotions from time to time, and the way we address and deal with them influences our emotional health. The goal is to develop a trustworthy emotional connection with ourselves and the other person that is important to us, which enhances intimacy and the effectiveness of the relationship in accomplishing good. Becoming aware of how to "Climb the emotional Hill" as well as evaluating how these uproars where created and developed will allow the person to experience their emotions fully before moving toward without the impulse reactions and to become proactive rather than reactive.
